Once Upon a Time Show on ABC - Season 1

Enter a world where modern day and fairytales intertwine, this is the premise for ABC's Once Upon a Time created by storytellers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz the duo who brought us Lost.

The residents of the town of Storybrooke are actually the people of Fairytale land, who have been trapped by the Evil Queen's Dark Curse, a curse enacted against Snow White and Prince Charming.

The townsfolk are being held prisoners in this modern day town, unaware of their past lives as fairytale characters. Their only hope lies with Emma Stone, a grown adult who was a baby that escaped the curse. She is brought back to town by Henry, the son she gave up for adoption.

Featuring Ginnifer Goodwin as Snow White, Josh Dallas as Prince Charming, Lana Parrilla as the Evil Queen, Jennifer Morrison as Emma Swan, Jared S. Gilmore as Henry Mills Once Upon a Time puts a modern spin on the classic fairy tales.

We've been fans since the beginning of the show. It is a fun show for me to share with my daughters on Sunday night. We can now even download music from the show from iTunes. The musical soundtrack is now available on Amazon and the complete first season will be available by the end of August.

For those who can't wait for the show to resume in the fall you can take a peak at some of the trailers from the second season that hint at new characters joining the cast. There is even a possibility that the dead Sheriff, Jamie Dornan might be returning now that "There's magic in Storybrooke now."

Remember, "Everything you ever read about Fairytales is true. The residents of Storybrooke are living proof..."

The basic premise of the show is that the town of Storybrooke is an enchanted town, where the citizens of the town are actually fairytale characters who have been trapped in "someplace horrible" by the Evil Queen, who cursed all of the inhabitants of the Fairytale world. The characters have been stuck in limbo in this town filled with secrets for twenty-eight years.

The only hope for the town comes from outsider Emma Swan, a 28-year-old who was abandoned as a baby, who may be the only one able to break the Evil Queen's curse. Emma is the missing daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming. Emma is brought back to Storybrooke by 10-year-old Henry, the son she gave up for adoption. He believes that Emma can break the curse that has been on the town for twenty-eight years.

Most of the characters in Once Upon a Time play dual roles, one in the present day in Storybrooke and another in Fairytale land.

Two shows based on fairytales were released during the 2001-2012 season, Once Upon a Time on ABC and Grimm on NBC.

Both shows put their own twists on the classic fairytales.

Which show do you like better?

Once Upon a Time was created by the same duo who brought us the series Lost, Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis. They have created a show in which the modern day world and classic fairytales intertwine in a town called Storybrooke.

The writers have gotten permission from Disney to use their version fairytale characters along with the classic fairytale stories, so some of the unnamed characters from the classic tales are being given the Disney names.

According to an article by Morgan Jeffery for Digital Spy the focus on the show is on the characters. Horowitz and Kitsis are looking to explore the unresolved mysteries of famous fairy tales in Once Upon a Time.

We started watching Once Upon a Time from the very beginning and wouldn't miss an episode now. With two other Once Upon a Time fans in the house, I went in search of Once Upon a Time gift ideas.

What I could find was posters on Amazon; t-shirts, buttons, magnets, mugs and more on Cafepress; posters and photographs on eBay. I also found a few additional ideas with other Once Upon a Time products that fans might enjoy.

With luck, we may be seeing Once Upon a Time costumes for Halloween.

Since the show is in it's first season, there is not a lot of merchandise and products available for Once Upon a Time Fans.

Fans of the show may want to make their own Fairytale book like the one that Henry carries around, which can be done using the Once Upon a Time Album and Scrapbook supplies.
